Description
SCHOOL DISTRICT ORGANIZATION. POWER OF LEGISLATURE. INITIATIVE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT. Amends article IX, section 14 of the Constitution to vest in the Legislature alone the power to provide for the incorporation, organization, consolidation, reconstitution or realignment of school, high school and community college districts. Provides that the exercise of such power shall require the votes of two thirds of the members present in each House of the Legislature. Financial Impact: No direct fiscal effect on state and local governments.
